The Administration for Community Living (ACL) supports the needs of the aging and disability populations, and improves access health care and long-term services.
The National Community Care Corps Grant, administered by the Oasis Institute in collaboration with the Caregiver Action Network, USAging, and advised by Altarum, aims to distribute funds through a competitive grantmaking process. The grant supports innovative local models where volunteers offer nonmedical care to help maintain independence for older adults, adults with disabilities, and family caregivers. There are two proposal options offered: the first focuses on establishing, enhancing, or growing volunteer programs that provide nonmedical tasks and support, while the second aims at building a network of volunteers to assist with transportation to non-emergency medical appointments and outpatient procedures. The goal is to ensure these programs reflect community needs and offer comprehensive support, including pre- and post-appointment needs.
