We deliver conservation solutions so agricultural producers can protect natural resources and feed a growing world.
The Emergency Watershed Protection Program (EWP) aims to assist local communities in addressing immediate threats to life and property resulting from natural disasters that affect a watershed, such as floods, fires, windstorms, etc. EWP offers both technical and financial support for this cause without the necessity for a disaster declaration by federal or state authorities. Initiatives under this program include removing debris from water channels, reshaping eroded streambanks, repairing damaged drainage facilities, establishing vegetation on eroded lands, repairing levees and structures, and purchasing floodplain easements. Recovery projects under EWP require a local sponsor or a legal subdivision of state or tribal government, promoting locally-led solutions that are economically, environmentally, and socially viable and adhere to engineering standards.
