    Type of Support

    Overview

This program provides grants to qualified organizations aimed at facilitating local self-help housing construction projects in rural areas. It supports groups of very-low- and low-income individuals and families by supervising them as they provide most of the construction labor on each other’s homes. The grants enable organizations to offer technical assistance, supervise construction efforts, assist with loan applications, and help families participate in building their own homes. Eligible areas for these projects can be determined using the USDA Eligibility Site.
