Rural Business Development Grants in New York

From USDA: Rural Development (RD)

We are committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America.

Type of Support

Overview

The grant program aims to provide technical assistance and training dedicated to supporting small rural businesses, defined as those with fewer than 50 employees and less than $1 million in gross revenue. There is no maximum grant amount, with a preference for smaller requests and no cost-sharing requirement. It encompasses two types of projects: Opportunity and Enterprise grants. Opportunity grants are capped at 10 percent of the total annual funding, focusing on community and technology-based economic development, among others. Enterprise grants target projects benefiting small and emerging rural businesses, covering a wide range of uses from training and technical assistance to infrastructure development and community economic initiatives.
