We are committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America.
This program focuses on providing technical assistance and training to small rural businesses, which are defined as having fewer than 50 new workers and less than $1 million in gross revenue. The grant does not have a maximum amount, though preference is given to smaller requests without a required cost sharing. Allocated under the Rural Business Development Grant, enterprise grants must support small emerging businesses in rural areas for various purposes, including training, land development, machinery acquisition, pollution control, revolving loan funds, distance learning, and many others aimed at enhancing rural economic development. Opportunity grants specifically support community economic development, technology-based development, feasibility studies, entrepreneur training, business incubators, and strategic planning.
