This grant program focuses on enhancing the infrastructure for clean and reliable drinking water systems, sanitary sewage disposal, sanitary solid waste disposal, and storm water drainage in eligible rural areas. The grants support a variety of projects including the acquisition, construction, or improvement of water and sewer systems, solid waste disposal, and storm water drainage systems. Eligible uses of funds extend to legal and engineering fees, land acquisition, permits, equipment, start-up operations and maintenance, interest incurred during construction, and the purchase of facilities to improve or maintain service. The program aims to ensure that rural households and businesses have access to essential water and waste disposal services.
