    Overview

    This grant program is focused on supporting the development and maintenance of essential public services in eligible rural areas. Specifically, it aims to provide funding for clean and reliable drinking water systems, sanitary sewage disposal, sanitary solid waste disposal, and storm water drainage. The program supports a wide range of projects including the acquisition, construction, or improvement of drinking water sourcing, treatment, storage, and distribution systems; sewer collection, transmission, treatment, and disposal systems; solid waste collection, disposal, and closure systems; and storm water collection, transmission, and disposal systems. Additionally, the grant may cover related activities such as legal and engineering fees, land acquisition, permits and equipment, start-up operations and maintenance, interest incurred during construction, the purchase of facilities to improve service or prevent loss of service, and other necessary costs for project completion.
