    Type of Support

    Overview

The Women’s Foundation of Genesee Valley (WFGV) aims to amplify the voices of women and girls in Greater Rochester and dismantle barriers to economic success through equitable philanthropy and transformative community partnerships. They fund nonprofit programs—up to $50,000 over one year—that enhance economic self‑sufficiency by supporting initiatives led by women and girls or serving historically under‑resourced communities. Eligible projects must align with at least one of WFGV’s three funding priorities:

    • Equitable Philanthropy: Expanding access to funding for underrepresented groups, including women-led or youth-led initiatives.
    • Transformative Community Partnerships: Co-created, systemic-cause programs involving nonprofits, schools, grassroots groups, and others.
    • Amplifying Voices: Projects promoting leadership, civic engagement, advocacy, storytelling, or professional development for women and girls.
