Alger Regional Community Foundation Grant

The grant program by Alger Regional Community Foundation supports a wide array of causes within Alger County:

• Youth: Multiple endowments support youth activities, education, and involvement in cultural and educational activities, including funds established by the Munising Rotary Club, the ARCF Youth Memorial Golf Tournament, and donations from private and public organizations.
• Environmental Awareness: Grants for projects promoting a balance between residential, commercial, and recreational activities while ensuring environmental health and productivity.
• Health & Human Services: Support for projects encouraging healthy lifestyles among youth and seniors, assistance for residents facing temporary difficulties, and enhancing public safety and law enforcement resources.
• Community Development: Funds aimed at improving community aesthetics to spur economic development and continue community efforts supported by local figures.
• Cultural Arts: Grants enhancing access to cultural activities and events in Munising and Grand Marais, and supporting women's enrichment activities.
• Operating/Unrestricted: Includes funds for the administrative activities of ARCF and unrestricted funds supporting diverse opportunities in charitable, educational, recreational, environmental, cultural, or social welfare areas. Grants typically do not exceed $2,500, with approval required for larger amounts.
