Type of Support

Overview

On occasion, consistent with the Foundation’s mission of service and commitment to the long-term strength, vitality, and resilience of our region, Barr awards grants outside of its core focus areas. Special initiatives typically support targeted, time-limited efforts, and there is no formal inquiry process for this category of Barr’s funding.

Current focus areas include building a better Boston waterfront and advancing racial wealth equity in greater Boston.
