Main Grants Scheme: Rebuilding Biodiversity

    From Biffa Award

Biffa Award grants aim to build communities and transform lives by funding projects near landfill sites. They focus on improving the quality of life through funding site-based capital expenditure that creates or enhances community amenities.

    Overview

The Biffa Award’s Main Grants Scheme supports projects under three distinct themes without crossover: Community Buildings, Recreation, and Rebuilding Biodiversity. Projects under the Rebuilding Biodiversity theme aim to support a variety of living things and their natural habitats through habitat improvement, buying plants, seeds, trees, and more. The grant prioritizes projects with public access or volunteer involvement. Eligibility criteria include geographical proximity to Biffa operations and licensed landfill sites, cost limitations, a focus on direct capital work rather than research, and the requirement for a management plan for the involved species or habitats.
