BCBSMF: Healthy Start Grant Program

The grant program aims at investing in early childhood care and education as a foundational element for lifelong health. It specifically targets increasing access to quality early childhood care and education for vulnerable young children and their caregivers. The Foundation supports tax-exempt organizations, fiscally sponsored groups, and Tribal Nations in Minnesota with a focus on:

• Enhancing the supply, affordability, and workforce support for high-quality child care and early learning.
• Increasing the availability and effectiveness of early childhood screenings for developmental assessments, supports, and interventions.
• Expanding family home visiting services to boost parents' knowledge, provide social support, and connect families with additional resources. The Foundation plans to grant up to $1 million in the first year and another $1 million in the second year, with individual grants going up to $100,000 per year for one or two years.
