The Buckeye Book Fair Literacy Awards program aims to support Ohio reading programs, public and community libraries, and school librarians, teachers, and students through three types of awards: Book Awards, to help libraries acquire more books; and Author & Illustrator Awards, to enable life-changing encounters between students and creators. The awards emphasize the importance of having authors and illustrators available for presentations in schools, clubs, and libraries. Applications are evaluated based on the project's impact, the applicant's financial need, and evidence of careful planning.
