The Cinnabar Foundation, Montana's homegrown conservation fund, aims to invest in a conservation legacy that will endure in perpetuity. It supports the state's conservation efforts through donations, bequests, legacy gifts, and memorial funds, envisioning a future where Montana's landscapes are preserved alongside sustainable economies. The foundation is committed to safeguarding clear waters, restored wildlife, wild lands, epic national parks and ensuring a commitment from future generations towards these goals.
The Cinnabar Foundation's grant program supports specific projects, programs, or campaigns with a focus on conservation. Priority is given to projects aligning with the Foundation's strategic vision and conservation goals, in areas such as Community Conservation & Sustainable Agriculture, Conservation Education & Research, Environmental Advocacy, Private Land Conservation, Public Lands (including access, advocacy, stewardship, and wildlife habitat), and Water Quality and Fisheries. The Foundation sets funding priorities on stewardship of public lands, land use on public and private lands aimed at protecting open space and wildlife habitat, addressing natural resource extraction, improving air and water quality, and supporting community efforts for sound conservation and environmental policies. Special Project support grants are capped at 50% of the total project budget or $15,000, whichever is less.
