The Duff McDuff Green, Jr. Fund is committed to honoring the philanthropic legacy of Duff McDuff Green Jr. by supporting causes he valued profoundly: landscape preservation and fostering opportunities for children to engage in healthy outdoor activities.
The grant program prioritizes proposals that demonstrate stewardship, inspiration, collaboration, vision, and accountability. These grants support not-for-profit programs and projects aimed at community development, housing assistance, scholarships, local education, medical facilities, community groups, cultural organizations, and other civic-minded initiatives enhancing the quality of life in Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania, and Stafford counties, and the City of Fredericksburg. The Fredericksburg Savings Charitable Foundation Fund, transferred to The Community Foundation in 2021 with over $13 million in assets, determines grant amounts based on the applying organization's operational budget, with specific grant request limits set according to the size of the budget, ranging from $7,500 to $60,000.
