The Food and Farm Communications Fund is a collaborative grant program united by the belief that strategic communications and narrative are pivotal in fostering transformational change within our food and farm systems. It aims to leverage collective efforts for strategic investment, emphasizing the power of networks while being open to learning from those intimately acquainted with the challenges it seeks to overcome.
The Wildseeds Grants program is designed to support non-profit, grassroots organizations committed to justice and systemic transformation for thriving communities. Drawing inspiration from Octavia Butler, it symbolizes resilience and the ability to resist, spread, and flourish within the movement for change. The program invests in the development of ideas, message amplification, and long-term movement infrastructure, focusing on uplifting front-line stories, building power, and catalyzing transformative change in food and farm systems. It prioritizes strategic communications efforts such as developing connectivity, integrated communications planning, professional development in communications, enhancing communications tools, content and media initiatives creation, and narrative development. The program generally awards grants between $20,000 and $50,000 for one-year projects, with a limited possibility for two-year commitments up to $75,000, based on the project's need, alignment with the Fund’s goals, and available resources.
