Bringing clubs together to cultivate the bond among people, plants, and the environment.
The Joan K. Hunt and Rachel M. Hunt Summer Scholarship in Field Botany aims to encourage undergraduate and master’s degree students in the U.S. to engage in summer field work related to pure botany. This scholarship, providing $3500 annually to one eligible student, supports various activities including but not limited to assisting a botanist with field studies or plant inventories, plant monitoring in national forests, and internships on special projects within botanical gardens. The program is designed to offer students hands-on experience in their chosen field of study during the summer, allowing for exploration and learning outside the confines of the regular academic curriculum. It is geared towards students at various stages of their education—from those following their first year in college up to those pursuing a master's degree—with the intent of fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for botany in the context of horticulture.
