The ARL Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowships aim to attract exceptional early career researchers to contribute to ARL's mission through independent research. Recipients are selected based on their extraordinary ability in scientific research and their potential to become outstanding leaders in their fields. The fellowship encourages tackling major scientific or engineering problems or introducing new approaches or insights with recognized impact in their domain. Benefits include a stipend of $115,000 per year, health insurance, paid relocation, and a professional travel allowance. Fellowships are initially awarded for one year with the possibility of renewal up to three years based on performance. Fellows are expected to be in residence at ARL or at a designated facility and are required to submit annual progress reports as well as a final report detailing their research findings and publications.
