NC Beautiful, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit since 1999, aims to provide K-12 teachers in North Carolina with resources to develop educational programs that enhance and support the Common Core & Essential Standards. Its mission focuses on fostering environmental stewardship and appreciation of the natural environment among students, thereby improving the beauty of the state.
The Window of Opportunity" (WOO) grants are for beautification, replenishment and recycling projects that educate the youth of North Carolina on the impacts of preserving and enhancing our state’s environmental sustainability. The funds are meant to provide resources for materials critical to the learning project/environment and are intended to provide hands-on learning opportunities for students.
