This acknowledgment, known as the Meridian Book Award, is aimed at highlighting works that play a crucial role in advancing geographic knowledge and understanding. In addition to the main award, the committee may also confer an Honorable Mention to another noteworthy title, underlining the program's commitment to acknowledging exceptional contributions to the field.
