    Overview

The SAEMF/MTF Toxicology Research Grant offers $20,000 over a year to foster research enhancing the field of medical toxicology within emergency medicine. The aim is to promote collaboration between ACMT and SAEM members and push forward the science of medical toxicology concerning emergency medicine aspects. The grant is interested in projects that focus on collecting preliminary data (pilot projects) for future larger-scale research. Research areas of interest include medical toxicology practice and education, toxicity from pharmaceuticals and chemicals, envenomations, opioid-use disorders, chemical/radiological emergency preparedness, and global medical toxicology. The grant expects recipients to participate in relevant annual meetings, provide progress reports, present research findings, and publish a manuscript based on their research. It is open to mentored research scientists and independent research scientists, with specific review criteria tailored to the applicant's career stage and the proposed mentorship's appropriateness or evidence of collaborative research efforts.
