The broad goal of the grant program is to support municipal environmental stewardship and resiliency projects in Atlantic City Electric's service territory, providing financial support for projects to enhance municipal capacity to prevent and respond to catastrophic events and emergencies. Specifically, the Sustainable Communities Grant Program aims to support initiatives that reduce waste, cut greenhouse gas emissions, educate for sustainability, stimulate local economies, increase resiliency, and progress toward an equitable society. Grants from this program are intended to enable towns to complete actions contributing toward Sustainable Jersey certification, with a focus on environmental stewardship and resiliency efforts.
