The Trust for the Meditation Process is a charitable foundation that supports the practice and understanding of inner, silent awareness through meditation, mindfulness, or contemplative prayer. It aims to renew contemplative Christianity, promote health and wholeness, and introduce silence and stillness in a busy world by providing financial grants to non-profit organizations.
The grant program from The Trust for the Meditation Process focuses on two main areas: Contemplative Christianity and Mindfulness. For Contemplative Christianity, the grants aim to introduce or expand practices such as Christian Meditation or Centering Prayer, support emerging scholars, and reconnect people to Christian contemplative traditions across all denominations, especially targeting underserved populations. The Mindfulness grants aim to introduce or expand mindfulness meditation in various settings, like educational institutions and correctional facilities, also prioritizing underserved groups. Grants are competitive, with 20 to 40 awards given annually for short-term projects where small grants can significantly impact and yield clear outcomes. Funded projects may include meditation courses, teacher trainings, curriculum development, and research, with initial awards ranging from $3,000 to $5,000.
