To protect and promote U.S. security, prosperity, and democratic values and shape an international environment in which all Americans can thrive.
The grant aims to fund the Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) component of the 2025-2026 Youth Leadership and Teacher Professional Development Program. It focuses on organizing a Youth Leadership Program (YLP) for 18 high school students aged 15-19 and three teachers from diverse communities in BiH, encompassing a total of 21 participants. The program includes a three-to-four-week substantive program in the United States across at least two cities, aiming for an exchange of information and experiences with U.S. peers. A pre-departure orientation in Sarajevo and an eight-month Community Action Project (CAP) in participants' hometowns are critical components. The program emphasizes leadership, team building, problem-solving, effective communication, diversity appreciation, and management skills. Activities should represent diverse BiH political and social viewpoints and prepare participants for follow-on engagement and project implementation post the U.S. visit.
