    Type of Support

    Overview

This grant program is designed to support Microenterprise Development Organizations (MDOs) in their efforts to aid microenterprises with starting up and growth primarily through the establishment and management of a Rural Microloan Revolving Fund. Additionally, it aims to provide essential training and technical support to microloan borrowers and micro-entrepreneurs. To qualify, MDOs must demonstrate experience in managing revolving loan funds or have received appropriate training. They can also qualify by showing active and successful participation as an intermediary lender, especially under the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Microloan Program. The program offers grants up to $205,000 annually for providing technical assistance to rural microenterprises or entrepreneurs, with a requirement for at least 15 percent matching funds from the recipients.
