The mission is to create equity by working with those affected and inspiring everyone to end racism and poverty. This organization is committed to combating White Supremacist, sexist, xenophobic, and homophobic actions and language, aiming to replace hatred with love and action, divisiveness with community-building and inclusion, and ignorance with education and support.
The Equity Program Grants support organizations and groups concentrating on key issues to advance educational equity, including anti-racism curriculum development, equitable early childhood education, equitable school climates, equitable school financing, and recruiting teachers of color. Priority is also given to efforts promoting equity in social determinants related to education, such as criminal justice, economic justice, health, housing, and immigration justice. The program emphasizes supporting activities that build community power, disrupt institutional inequity, and transform key systems. Grant decisions are made biannually, and some groups may qualify for support up to $85,000, particularly those focusing on internal changes and educational issues.
