The Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes aims to build community and inspire philanthropy by supporting creative, effective, and innovative programs across various sectors including human services, arts and culture, education and youth, health, environment, and civic affairs. They focus on projects that address community needs while ensuring sustainable impact, promoting diversity, and emphasizing the inclusion of underserved and economically diverse populations.
The Keuka Area Fund is designed as a means for individuals, families, and businesses to invest in the well-being of residents and the protection of the physical environment around Keuka Lake. The grant program supports a wide range of projects with a primary focus on achieving three types of objectives: Program or Direct Service Grants (covering program implementation costs), Capital Grants (for construction, renovation, or capital equipment expenses), and Organizational Development and Capacity Building Grants (covering strategic planning, performance management, diversity inclusion, and various other organizational improvements). Projects funded are expected to have clearly stated goals, a commitment to incorporating diverse cultures, and a plan for fostering community connections, particularly for the underserved and economically diverse groups.
