The mission of the Nashoba Valley Health Care Fund is to improve the community health of residents in the Nashoba Valley. This objective was set into motion in 2006 following the establishment of the fund through the division of the Nashoba Valley Medical Center endowment, managed by the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts and the Greater Lowell Community Foundation.
The grant aims to preserve, restore, and provide public access to North Central Massachusetts' natural environment while promoting humane treatment of animals through education, advocacy, and services. Specific areas supported by the grant include animal rescue, protection, and placement; animal welfare education; land and water preservation; habitat restoration; improving public access to natural places; and environmental or outdoor education.
