The mission of the funder is to continue the Maison Hospitaliere's legacy of support by making grants to organizations serving women and their families, ensuring direct services to women through either general operating or program support.
The IMPACT Grants program by the Greater New Orleans Foundation supports organizations within the region across five key categories: arts & culture, education, youth development, health, and social services. This program is designed to bolster efforts that contribute to a thriving, equitable region by preserving and promoting the area's unique culture, enhancing educational and developmental opportunities, improving health access, and delivering comprehensive social services. Funding is oriented towards projects that range from general operations and specific programs to advocacy and community engagement efforts, prioritizing initiatives that show strong leadership, fiscal responsibility, success, commitment to equity, and impactful community involvement. Special funding categories also exist, targeting specific needs such as health care assistance for certain income groups and initiatives aimed at disease prevention and health care education, alongside support for indigent patients requiring eye surgery or care. Organizations are selected based on their alignment with the Foundation’s programmatic goals and their capacity to address pressing community needs through innovative, sustainable, and equitable solutions.
