The Mignon Sherwood Delano Foundation aims to make significant yearly contributions to assist with the unmet financial needs within the realms of humanitarian, educational, cultural, and environmental enrichment in the City of Allegan and Allegan County. Its mission focuses on supporting the medical and rehabilitative needs of financially disadvantaged individuals, educational programs and opportunities for promising yet financially disadvantaged persons, the advancement of the arts, and the beautification and preservation of natural beauty where no other funds are available.
The grant program guided by the foundation seeks to support various causes directly impacting the City of Allegan and Allegan County. The guiding principles of the grant include offering financial assistance to initiatives that: provide for the medical and rehabilitative needs of those who are ill or injured and financially disadvantaged; support public educational programs and the education of promising individuals facing financial hardships; advance the arts; and contribute to the beautification and preservation of the environment in scenarios lacking support from established institutions, businesses, or governmental agencies.
