    Overview

This grant program is focused on supporting the participation of individual researchers in campaign-style geologic mapping teams targeted at the Moon. The overarching goal is to develop high-quality, consistent geologic maps to aid lunar exploration. This entails devising innovative mapping strategies for efficiency, creating diverse and content-rich maps for scientific investigation, guiding decisions on region and site selection, and supporting surface operations. Participants are expected to foster a collaborative environment, outlined by a "Rules of the Road" document, that promotes accessible and widely sharable results. Moreover, the program aims to broaden the geologic mapping community by including a wider range of scientific disciplines and diversifying the geological map portfolio, particularly in terms of the regions covered, the content of the maps, and their scale, all in support of sustained lunar exploration initiatives.
