    The Chula Vista Community Foundation aims to enhance the quality of life in Chula Vista by addressing emerging needs. This is achieved by encouraging effective philanthropy, building an endowment for the community, annually funding organizations and causes, and providing a means for legacy planning and cash gifts. This effort is driven by a vision to cultivate a culture of giving that strengthens and enriches Chula Vista's community life across generations.

    Overview

    The Binational Resilience Initiative (BRI) is designed to help the binational region adapt to climate change impacts by bolstering existing cross-border connectivity and resource sharing. It is targeted at supporting projects that enhance the resilience of the Cali-Baja region, encouraging nonprofit organizations in Mexico or the U.S. to lead these efforts, with a strong emphasis on partnership building. The grant aims to:

    • Leverage climate-related work of project partners for developing binational resources, knowledge, and tools for advancing coastal resilience.
    • Support new and ongoing cross-border collaborative projects and programs to foster connectivity, adaptation, innovation, and collective prosperity.
    • Assist stakeholders in efforts to improve, restore, and conserve shared ecosystems.
    • Enhance organizational capacity to bolster binational coastal resilience initiatives.
