Third Wave Fund is the only national fund aimed at supporting youth-led Gender Justice activism to enhance the political power, well-being, and self-determination of communities of color and low-income communities in the United States. They believe in the leadership of directly impacted individuals, particularly young women of color and gender non-conforming youth, for designing and leading solutions to achieve substantial social justice changes by addressing root causes.
The Mobilize Power Fund offers grants to youth-led and intergenerational groups, nonprofits, & coalitions in the USA, supporting gender justice organizations to quickly adapt or pivot in response to unforeseen, time-sensitive opportunities or threats affecting their movement building and organizing efforts. Focused on supporting organizations led by young women of color, trans, queer, gender non-conforming, and intersex young people under 35, it aims for those directly impacted by issues they advocate for, employing an intersectional gender justice lens, and with organizational budgets under $500k. Grants of up to $10,000 USD are available, with possibilities for larger amounts or up to $20,000 for partnerships or coalitions, subject to specific conditions and a semi-annual limitation on grant receipt. This Fund supports urgent needs related to community organizing, mobilization, healing justice, conflict resolution, community accountability, direct action, etc.
