The Turtle Conservation Fund (TCF) aims to ensure the long-term survival of tortoises and freshwater turtles through a partnership coalition of leading turtle conservation organizations and individuals by strategizing and providing funding support.
The TCF grants program is designed to support conservation and research projects focused on endangered tortoises and freshwater turtles, excluding marine turtles. These projects can receive full or partial funding, primarily aimed at those species classified as Critically Endangered or Endangered on the IUCN Red List or the TFTSG Provisional Red List, or those potentially highly threatened but not yet classified. Funding priorities target projects for species confronting significant threats, with awards ranging approximately from $1000 to $5000. Additionally, smaller seed grants up to $1000 are available to support pilot conservation initiatives. Priority is given to projects that could significantly impact the conservation status or understanding of these endangered species.
