Invest in and advance agricultural research, education, and extension to solve societal challenges.
The Agricultural Genome to Phenome Initiative (AG2PI) aims at fostering a collaborative science environment. Its primary goal is to build a community of researchers focused on the study of genomes and phenomes related to both crop and animal agriculture. This initiative strives to enhance our understanding of how genetic diversity in crops and animals interacts with varying weather, environments, and production systems, affecting growth and productivity. Through this understanding, AG2PI seeks to improve the precision of predictions regarding crop and animal performance under diverse conditions, facilitating the selection of genotypes that are well-adapted and superior, ultimately benefiting farmers and ranchers with more efficient production.
