    Type of Support

    Overview

This grant program aims to support the startup and growth of microenterprises in rural areas. It specifically offers loans and grants to Microenterprise Development Organizations (MDOs) that can demonstrate experience in managing a Revolving Loan Fund or have adequate training to do so. The program's objectives include helping microenterprises through the establishment of a Rural Microloan Revolving Fund and providing training and technical assistance to microloan borrowers and entrepreneurs. Additionally, it offers grants for technical assistance to rural micro-entrepreneurs or microenterprises, with funding up to $205,000 annually, though this requires at least 15% in matching funds. To be eligible, MDOs must also show active and successful participation as intermediary lenders in good standing under programs like the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Microloan Program.
