Cooper's Hawk Donation Request: Lux Tasting and Magnum Packages for Your Auction (2026 Guide)

Cooper's Hawk gives a $60 Lux Tasting for Four or a roughly $130 Magnum package through one online form. Inside: who qualifies, the 30-day rule, and the 47% odds seen on TheShareWay.

Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurants takes donation requests through one online form and gives two things: a Lux Tasting for Four, which any organization can request, and the CH Cares Magnum Package, which is reserved for 501(c)(3) nonprofits that meet its criteria. Submit the form at least 30 days before your event, attach your letterhead or proof of 501(c)(3) status, and choose the Cooper's Hawk restaurant nearest you, because that is where an approved donation is picked up. About 47% of Cooper's Hawk donation requests tracked on TheShareWay succeed. You can apply on Cooper's Hawk's donation form and track your request on Cooper's Hawk's TheShareWay page.

Demand is steady: nonprofits logged 350 Cooper's Hawk requests on TheShareWay in the last 12 months. Outright declines are uncommon, and most requests that don't succeed simply never get a reply. That is why the timing and follow-up advice below matters.

    What Cooper's Hawk donates

Cooper's Hawk's request form says plainly that it "only offers two types of donations":

    • Lux Tasting for Four. A wine tasting for four people, open to any organization that applies. This is the donation most nonprofits receive, and they typically log it at a $60 value.
    • CH Cares Magnum Package. Reserved for 501(c)(3) organizations that meet Cooper's Hawk's approval criteria. Cooper's Hawk's donations page says one of its two donation types is for 501(c)(3)s focused on children's health and welfare, so this is the package to ask for if that describes your mission. Nonprofits that received it on TheShareWay most often describe a magnum of Cooper's Hawk Meritage with a complimentary three-month wine club membership and a tasting for two, valued at around $130.

Cooper's Hawk's donations page also points requests for potential wine sponsorships to the same form, but the form itself lists only the two packages above.

Cooper's Hawk does donate to silent auctions. The form's event-type menu lists live, silent and online auctions, raffles and door prizes, and peer-to-peer events such as walks, rides and runs. Both packages are wine, so plan to offer them where the winners will be 21 or older.

Who can request a Cooper's Hawk donation

    • Any organization can ask for the Lux Tasting. The form accepts your organization's letterhead in place of 501(c)(3) proof, and the EIN field is optional for groups without 501(c)(3) status.
    • The Magnum package is for 501(c)(3)s that meet Cooper's Hawk's criteria, with children's health and welfare as the stated focus.
    • You need to be near a restaurant. The form asks you to pick one of the 76 Cooper's Hawk restaurants it lists in 14 states, and that restaurant is where an approved donation is picked up. They are concentrated in Illinois (19), Florida (15) and Ohio (8), with others in Arizona, Michigan, Missouri, Virginia, Indiana, Wisconsin, Maryland, Alabama, Georgia, Iowa and North Carolina. Restaurants in Centennial, Colorado and Indian Land, South Carolina are set to open this winter. Check the Cooper's Hawk locations page for the one nearest you.

Cooper's Hawk also notes that it receives a high volume of requests and can't accommodate everyone, so it supports the causes that best align with its mission.

How to submit a Cooper's Hawk donation request

    1. Count back from your event date. Cooper's Hawk asks for requests at least 30 days before the event, but aim for about two months. Approved Cooper's Hawk requests tracked on TheShareWay were submitted a median of 61 days before the event, and missing the 30-day notice is the decline reason nonprofits most often record.
    2. Prepare one attachment. Put your letterhead or proof of 501(c)(3) status into a single PDF or Word document. If you need your IRS paperwork, see our guide to the 501(c)(3) determination letter.
    3. Draft your "Tell Us Why" answer. The form gives you up to 4,000 characters and asks for three things: the good work your organization does, how you'll acknowledge the donation at your event, and your fundraising goals. TheShareWay's donation request letter template covers the same ground and is easy to adapt.
    4. Fill out the form at chwinery.approveforgood.com. Besides the attachment and your answer, it asks what you'd like donated (name the package), your event type, your event's name, website, date and expected attendance, your fundraising goal, your organization's details and cause, your contact information, and the restaurant location.
    5. Log the request on Cooper's Hawk's TheShareWay page so you have a record of the date you applied and a reminder to follow up.

    After you apply

Cooper's Hawk responds to donation requests in a median of 19 days, based on applications tracked on TheShareWay, but more than a third of replies take longer than a month. That gap is the other reason to apply well ahead of the 30-day minimum.

If your request is approved, Cooper's Hawk emails a confirmation to the address on your form, and its donations page says its Donation Concierge will be in touch in time for your event. Nearly all approved donations tracked on TheShareWay are picked up at the restaurant selected on the form, so plan for someone local to collect it. Nonprofits reviewing Cooper's Hawk on TheShareWay consistently describe the form as easy, the response as quick and the pickup as simple.

If you haven't heard anything as your event approaches, follow up with the restaurant you selected rather than assuming a no. If you're declined, the fix is usually timing: apply again for your next event with more lead time.

Once the donation is in hand, a silent auction bid sheet helps you display it, and a thank-you letter to the restaurant keeps the door open for next year.

If Cooper's Hawk isn't an option

Cooper's Hawk doesn't publish a grant or foundation program for outside nonprofits, and TheShareWay's directory has no Cooper's Hawk funder record, so the two packages above are the whole program. If your event is less than 30 days away, you're outside Cooper's Hawk's footprint, or you want more wine and dining prizes, these donors cover similar prizes or the same regions:

    • PRP Wine International donates two in-home wine sampling gift certificates, and about 70% of requests succeed.
    • Portillo's, in Illinois, Florida, Indiana, Wisconsin and five other states, donates food and gift cards, and about 56% of requests succeed.
    • Lou Malnati's Pizzeria, in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Arizona, donates gift cards and gift baskets, and about 53% of requests succeed.
    • 4 Rivers Smokehouse, in Florida, donates food and gift cards, and about 65% of requests succeed.
