A FOUR-PAGE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION IS AVAILABLE ON-LINE OR FROM THE OFFICE. IT REQUIRES PERSONAL INFORMATION, EDUCATIONAL STATUS, EDUCATIONAL HISTORY, BACKGROUND (EMPLOYMENT) INFORMATION, FINANCIAL INFORMATION ON EDUCATIONAL EXPENSES AND RESOURCES, PRESENT ACTIVITIES, THREE RECOMMENDATION LETTERS AND TWO ESSAYS ON AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION. A SELECTION OF APPLICANTS ARE INTERVIEWED BY BOARD MEMBERS. SUCCESSFUL GRANTEES ARE SELECTED FROM THIS GROUP BY THE SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE. PREVIOUS GRANTEES SEEKING CONTINUING SUPPORT FOR THEIR EDUCATION SUBMIT A TWO PAGE SCHOLARSHIP RENEWAL APPLICATION, WHICH UPDATES THEIR INFORMATION, FINANCES, AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OVER THE PREVIOUS YEAR.

THE ROOTHBERT FUNDS MAKES TWO TYPES OF GRANTS: 1. SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS FOR GRADUATE AND UNDERGRADUATE STUDY. APPLICANTS FOR THESE GRANTS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION. 2. FELLOWSHIP GRANTS TO ORGANIZATIONS QUALIFIED UNDER I.R.C. SECTION 501(C)(3) ON BEHALF OF FELLOWS, INDIVIDUALLY OR IN GROUPS, WHO ARE NO LONGER RECEIVING SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS. QUALIFYING FELLOWS MAY APPLY FOR THESE GRANTS AT ANY TIME AND THEIR APPLICATIONS ARE REVIEWED AND ACTED UPON BY A COMMITTEE MADE UP OF MEMBERS OR FORMER MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE FUND.
