The Greater Milwaukee Foundation aims to enhance the quality of life in the Greater Milwaukee area by addressing local needs and fostering community improvement through support and funding to a wide range of initiatives and programs, primarily focusing on basic human needs, community development, education, and the arts.
The ThriveOn Collaboration prioritizes five key areas: Housing, Early Childhood Education, Health & Wellness, Social Cohesion, and Economic Opportunity. Each area aims to tackle specific long-term goals such as increasing affordable housing, improving educational outcomes, reducing chronic disease rates, fostering positive community relationships, and stabilizing the local small business community. Additionally, ThriveOn offers Summer Grants to fund community-based activities within Halyard Park, Harambee, and Brewers Hill neighborhoods, focusing on supporting youth, employment training, and community-building efforts that promote peace and social connection. Projects may range from educational events to arts and cultural activities, aiming to enhance community relationships and support local youth engagement.
